I like the fact that ATB is a grass-roots organization that genuinely cares about their employees and their customers. One of the differences between ATB Financial and some other organizations is the accessibility to the senior leaders. It’s a large company that actually cares about you. I can e-mail the executives and they’ll respond.
But, it’s not just the senior executives that are accessible. I can talk to people across the various business channels and they’ll know who I am. I am most proud of the grass-roots approach that the company has managed to hang on to, as ATB has transformed over the years from a government–led organization to a provincial Crown Corporation with a Board of Directors. It’s an important aspect to customer service because if you treat one employee with that approach, they’ll respond positively to the customers, and then it becomes a positive tool.
