Alberta Treasury Branches Sponsors TV Sports Program

(Edmonton) . Alberta Treasury Branches (ATB) is proud to be the major sponsor of a one-hour television special, "City of Champions - A Century of Excellence," airing during the Christmas season on CFRN-TV

(Edmonton) . Alberta Treasury Branches (ATB) is proud to be the major sponsor of a one-hour television special, "City of Champions - A Century of Excellence," airing during the Christmas season on CFRN-TV. This program is a celebration of 100 years of great sporting moments in northern Alberta's history and will be broadcast December 27, 1999 at 12:00 noon.

Many of Alberta's most celebrated championship teams and athletes are featured including Wayne Gretzky and the Edmonton Oilers, Kurt Browning, Willie deWit, and curling champion, the late Hector Gervais. Highlights from the 1978 Commonwealth Games and Universiade '83 will also be featured.

Once the program airs, "City of Champions - A Century of Excellence" will be made available on video and can be purchased for $19.95. Proceeds from video sales will benefit three Alberta charities including the Children's Health Foundation, Sports Central, and the Sports Council. Video orders can be placed by calling toll-free 1-800-471-5628.

ATB is committed to supporting community initiatives and believes in preserving proud moments in Alberta's history. "At ATB, we're proud of our strong commitment to Alberta and Alberta communities. "City of Champions" will appeal to people of all ages and will serve as an inspiration for up and coming athletes and coaches. Albertans will enjoy watching the highlights of the most celebrated moments in Alberta's sports history.
