| News Release: December 20, 2000 ATB Awards $1,000 Scholarship to Edgerton 4-H Member Wainwright, Alberta ... Alberta Treasury Branches (ATB) is awarding a $1,000 scholarship to Erin Granigan of Edgerton, Alberta, in recognition of outstanding involvement in 4-H and the generous contributions she has made to her community and school. Erin is studying pre-Optometry at the University of Lethbridge. "ATB has a long-standing history with Alberta 4-H and our strong partnership enables us to support the efforts and achievements of our youth," says Tom McArthur, ATB Wainwright Branch Manager. "ATB is proud to recognize Erin, a nine-year member of the Edgerton and Rivercourse 4-H MultiClubs. She is a hard-working and committed member of the community." ATB is proud to be one of the largest sponsors of 4-H in the province. Since 1987, ATB has awarded seven $1,000 scholarships annually to Alberta 4-H members in each of the six 4-H regions in the province. Recipients are selected by the 4-H Scholarship Selection Committee on the basis of outstanding 4-H achievement, positive community involvement and high academic standing. The ATB 4-H scholarship can be used at any Alberta university or college offering degree credits. ATB, an Alberta-based financial institution, was established in 1938. Today, ATB serves 240 communities through a network of 144 branches, 131 agencies and 216 automated banking machines.
