News Release: October 23, 2006 ATB Financial President Announces Retirement Edmonton, Alberta - Today Bob Normand, President and CEO, ATB Financial announced his decision to retire in June 2007. "I have had a long and rewarding banking career," says Bob Normand. "By far, the most satisfying part of my career is the nine plus years at ATB Financial. We've got the best associates, all across this great province, who are absolutely focused on taking care of our customers and we've got the success to prove it!" "Bob Normand has been an outstanding leader for ATB Financial," says Bob Splane, Chairman of the Board, ATB Financial. "He joined this great organization in 1997 and became our company's second President in 2001. With almost 40 years of banking experience, Bob had the needed knowledge and leadership skills to take ATB to the next level," says Splane. Bob Normand plans to remain as President and CEO until his successor is chosen. An executive search is underway. "I look forward to working with the Board to ensure a smooth leadership transition and I will continue in my role as President and CEO until my successor is selected.
