| News Release: November 26, 1999 ATB partners with Canada Post Edmonton, Alberta.Alberta Treasury Branches (ATB) customers will soon have the option to receive their account statements at Canada Post's Electronic Post OfficeT(EPOT or epost). ATB is one of the founding partners of epost, Canada Post's web-based mail delivery service. Consumers can set up an EPOT Box at no cost, and select senders from participating organizations. By early-2000, ATB customers will be able to opt to receive some of their account statements from ATB electronically rather than through the regular paper-based mail service. Statements provide customers information about the transactions through their chequing, savings or loan accounts. "ATB is proud to be a founding company of epost, and to be offering this new service through Canada Post," says Brian Digby, Executive Vice-President, Marketing and Product Development. "The electronic revolution is quickly providing new avenues and choices to consumers. We are responding to this demand for alternate, electronic access to financial services from a growing number of our customers." Currently ATB mails over 4.2 million account statements to customers each year. "There are obvious benefits to both our customers and to ATB in this new epost service: the delivery is quicker and more convenient. And using less paper is good for the environment." ATB is currently expanding its electronic access channels to provide more access options to customers. In the past year, ATB opened a new 128-seat Call Centre; increased the number of locations of automated banking machines province-wide to 204; upgraded the Any Time BankingT telephone banking system; and expects to have internet-based channels this coming year. Reaffirming ATB's commitment to its customers who prefer personal banking, one new branch was added and five relocated to new premises. By April 2000, ATB will have eight new-design branches (including three new branches and five relocations), and potentially seven more locations and one relocation by year-end. ATB is a full-service financial institution committed to being the first choice financial services provider to individual, independent business and agri-industry customers. ATB was established in 1938, with a one-time investment of $200,000 from the Province of Alberta. Today ATB serves Albertans in 238 communities through 145 branches and 129 agencies and a dedicated and dynamic salesforce of some 3,000 employees.
