Executive Vice President, ATB Corporate Financial Services
Mr. Ian Wild is responsible for ATB Financial’s corporate finance division which provides custom built solutions for mid- and senior-market businesses operating in Alberta in the Energy, Real Estate, Project Finance, Food & Forestry and Diversified industries. Ian started his 30+ year career in banking in London, U.K., working for National Westminster Bank Ltd. After immigrating to Canada, Ian held several roles with RBC from Special Loans Group to Oil & Gas Banking and Corporate Banking.
In addition to Ian’s experience as a banker, he is also a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, holds an ICD designation and is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of the United Kingdom. Ian is involved with the Business Banking Board’s Corporate Executive Board, Calgary Economic Development, various current and past Advisory Boards for the Universities of Alberta and Calgary, the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters and other industry associations, and he is a past member of SAIT’s Chairman’s Circle. Ian also currently serves as a Board Director for AltaCorp Capital Inc., a Calgary-based financial and advisory services firm that provides solutions to the three cornerstones of the Alberta economy – energy, agriculture and diversified.
Vice President, Strategic Initiatives
Bruce has most recently stepped into a new role to head up strategic initiatives and expand ATB Corporate Financial Services’ community involvement. Prior to this Bruce spent 12 years helping to build out ATB Financial’s Energy Group. His team consisted of industry specialists in all aspects of the energy industry, including: drilling and service, pipelines, utilities, midstream, exploration and production and alternative energy. Bruce has over 43 years of banking experience and has always had a strong focus on oil and gas industry.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers, has attained the ICD.D designation, and is a very active participant in community and church activities. He serves as a Director for the Calgary Counselling Centre. He also sits on SAIT’s Board Advisory Council; Canadian Women’s Foundation Calgary Cabinet Member, Peter Lougheed Centre Development Council, Calgary Health Trust Director and has been a speaker at numerous oil and gas industry seminars on finance.
Vice President, Corporate Sales
Tim Gillespie is the Vice President of Corporate Sales for ATB Corporate Financial Services. He is responsible for the strategy, direction, and leadership for all our sales teams covering industries including Energy, Diversified, Real Estate and Food & Forestry. These teams provide customized services to mid- and senior-market businesses operating throughout the province of Alberta.
When he joined ATB, he brought more than 25 dedicated years of experience in the financial services industry. He has worked in another major Canadian financial institution as well as a Denmark-based organization where he specialized in all areas of lending, specifically an emphasis on Technology. Prior to being Vice President, Tim was the Director of the Commercial Group.
He holds a CFA designation, and currently is a board member of the Canadian Free Style Ski Association, and Meals on Wheels. He is the Chairman for Meals on Wheels Capital Campaign and has past board experience with the Association for Corporate Growth and ASTECH. Being an accomplished pianist, he holds the same level of dedication and passion to music as he has with being an accomplished banker. It takes years of practice, study, and determination to be a musician and Tim applies these qualities everyday when working for his customers.
Head of Financial Services Group
Jon has been recently appointed as the Head of the Financial Services Group to lead the professional specialist teams and experts in the Syndications Group, ATB Financial Markets, ATB Equipment Finance, Project Finance and CFS’ newly formed Corporate Advisory Services (M&A).
Previous to this role, Jon launched and ran the CFS Syndications group, which is now one of the leading syndication agencies in Western Canada. Building on this Jon is excited about the future possibilities in his newly expanded role: “During my 12 years at ATB, I have grown and developed with CFS and now I am honoured to be in a position to help grow and develop new teams to provide enhanced capabilities to our clients”.
