Do what you love. Love what you do.

“If you have that deep fire burning within you, that passion for what you do, you are unstoppable,” says Andrew Obrecht, Co-Owner, YYC Cycle Spin Studio.

Andrew and business partners Warren Matzelle and Grady Topak have created a business that keeps them all motivated, and motivates their clients as well.

The Calgary-based spin studio runs about seven spin classes per day, seven days a week, but according to Andrew, “we are actually not even in the business of spin classes. We are in the business of happiness.”

What does having their own business mean to them?

“It has allowed us to provide a platform to a community of people...introduce them to new friends, introduce them to a healthier lifestyle, allow them to achieve goals that they never thought were possible,” states Warren.

Grady describes the YYC experience as dancing on stationary bicycles. “You get to jam out to some nice new tunes and work on yourself and when you put in that work, you can become the best version of yourself, the happiest version.”

That sentiment is echoed by Andrew.

“People leave that room inspired, feeling like they can take over the world.”

Having passion for what you do is something the three friends all three agree is important. Having a bank that understands that passion is also key.

“ATB was the first bank to give us our crack at opening our original studio amongst all the banks that we applied to,” declares Warren.

“I think ATB definitely understands Alberta, Alberta businesses and the people who run them.”
