14 days after floods swept through much of Southern Alberta, Calgarians and Albertans will come together to celebrate the 2013 Calgary Stampede. It will be a different type of party than years past. As always, the Stampede will be an annual celebration that kicks off summer for Albertans, but it will also be Calgary’s chance to show the world that it is resilient and ready to celebrate.
Come hell or high water, the Calgary Stampede will go on.
ATB is proud to once again participate in what is billed as the greatest show on earth. ATB is excited to support a wide range of events at this year’s Stampede. We are also looking forward to celebrating and carrying on this truly Albertan tradition, showcasing our own style of Alberta hospitality.
Here’s the scoop on ATB’s presence at the 2013 Calgary Stampede.
The GMC Rangeland Derby
Once again, we are a proud supporter of the GMC Rangeland Derby with our own chuckwagon driver Codey McCurrach. Building on last year's Rookie of the Year award, he is back to do what he does best.
This year, we wanted to take Albertans behind the scenes of the Chuckwagon world and show what exactly goes into preparing for a Chuckwagon race. Our What the Chuck video series will start on the first night of the races, and each night we will showcase one aspect of the races. By the end of the Stampede you'll be ready to be a TV commentator.
Stampede Fashion Roundup
This year, we gave our Pinterest account over to Michelle McCurrach (Codey's wife) who created a board of Stampede fashion inspiration. We're inviting Pinterest fans to share their interpretations and inspiration.
Food, food, and more food.
And what would Stampede be without pancake breakfasts? We will once again be topping flapjacks with strawberries and whipped cream at the following events:
