Over the last few weeks, ATB branches in Edmonton have raised more than $13,000 for the family of Constable Daniel Woodall.
When Const. Woodall was killed in the line of duty in June, the staff at ATB branches across Edmonton wanted to do something. So they organized fundraisers for the Woodall family trust. They sold blue wristbands with #EPSstrong at branches and raised $13,263. Then, ATB Financial matched that amount, making the total donated a whopping $25,147.30.
Liz Bron, branch manager of ATB’s Hawkstone Branch, was the catalyst for the idea.
“We wanted to do something for the family, and this event moved our community so much, so we decided to fundraise,” Bron said.
Sandra Huculak, ATB’s Managing Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Community Investment organized the corporate match.
“This was certainly something we could get behind,” she said of the grassroots-based fundraisers.
“Our Edmonton markets deserve to be congratulated for their wonderful work on this.”
