Overview ATB Financial ("ATB") is a full-service financial institution headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. ATB commenced operations in 1938 and, today, with total assets of $23.3 billion, ATB is the largest Alberta-based financial institution. ATB is a cornerstone in communities throughout Alberta. In fact, it is the sole financial institution in 118 Alberta communities. Access points include 159 branches and 133 agencies in 244 communities throughout the province, plus our own Customer Contact Centre in Calgary. Services are also available through a network of Automated Banking Machines (ABMs) across Alberta, Internet and Telephone. A workforce of more than 4,800 associates provides Personal and Business Financial Services, Corporate Financial Services, and Investor Services to over 660,000 Albertans and Alberta-based businesses.

History ATB was established in 1938, by the Government of Alberta to extend basic financial services to Albertans. Our first branch opened on September 29, 1938 in Rocky Mountain House. ATB became a provincial Crown Corporation in October 1997 under the authority of the Alberta Treasury Branches Act Chapter A-37.9, 1997 and Treasury Branches Regulation 187/97. In January 2002, we launched our new corporate identity, ATB Financial. This new identifier confirms the business we are in - providing a full range of financial services to Alberta - and reconfirms our commitment to the people of our province. "Albertans Investing in Alberta" is a publication that covers the history of ATB Financial from 1938 to 1999. ATB operates under a Board of Directors appointed by the Lieutenant Govenor in Council, and had investment, liquidity and risk standards comparable to other financial institutions. Memberships
