Strathcona County residents win "Love It or List It" experience with Jillian Harris and Todd Talbot, as well as $25,000 towards a new home or home renovations.

It’s a common homeownership dilemma and the premise for the popular W Network TV show Love It or List It Vancouver: should you renovate and stay, or sell and move?

Over four weeks this spring, almost 800 Albertans shared their “Love It or List It” stories for the Love Where You Live contest, and with help from TV hosts Jillian Harris and Todd Talbot, we selected our grand prize winners: Lindsay and Everett Marshall of Strathcona County, Alberta.

For sharing their story about their flood-damaged, renovation-challenged 1970’s acreage, the Marshalls won a once-in-a-lifetime “Love It or List It" experience with Jillian and Todd, as well as $25,000 towards a new home or home renovation.

“I’m pretty sure I’m still in shock,” Lindsay said a few days after hearing the great news. “My thoughts are all over the map thinking about what it’ll be like to get perspective from experts like Jillian and Todd, what renovations we might be able to tackle, and what this will allow us to do in the future with where we choose to live.”

Lindsay and Everett weren’t the only Love Where You Live winners: nearly 50 Albertans took home IKEA gift cards for participating in ATB’s daily homeownership Facebook polls. Over $9,000 was awarded in these daily prizes.

Lindsay and Everett received an in-person visit with Jillian and Todd on June 26, where Jillian presented her renovation concepts and Todd reviewed real estate options.
