Congratulations to ATB's first YES Program graduate

Posted on: June 20, 2012 | Author: Jennifer Sharpe

Ami Price-Gagnon is the first of six recipients of the ATB Financial Youth Education Support (YES) bursary program to graduate.

The YES program provides money, mentorship, and employment opportunities to post-secondary students from government care. "The mentorship and networking opportunities are what allowed the YES program to stand out over existing bursary programs," says Ami Price-Gagnon, Bachelor of Commerce graduate at the University of Alberta.

"I was able to see what I learned in the classroom come to life in the workplace and was free to question my manager for further understanding. This was huge in terms of both academics and in discovering my potential career path. I feel as though my access to professionals in my areas of interest was my greatest asset to utilize in the YES program".

Price-Gagnon received her degree at the convocation ceremony on June 5, 2012. Now that she has graduated, she has made arrangements for achieving her immediate goals, including a five-week French program in Montreal. "My original application to the YES bursary outlined plans of going to California after graduation, and that is where I'm headed in October. I hope that I can continue to be an ambassador of the program as I stand by it fully," says Price-Gagnon.

Congratulations, Ami, on your successful graduation from the Bachelor of Commerce program at the University of Alberta!
