Windermere Golf & Country Club in Edmonton, June 21-24

One of Alberta's premier summer sporting events, the ATB Financial Classic, returns to Edmonton this year, taking over the Windermere Golf & Country Club June 21-24. 156 world-class golfers will compete for a $175,000 purse in the four-day Canadian Professional Golf Tour tournament.

2012 marks the sixth year that ATB Financial will be the title sponsor of the ATB Financial Classic presented by Telus, and we're excited to spend these busy four days with 5000 of Alberta's biggest golf fans.

For over 20 years, the Canadian Tour has proven to be an excellent training ground for the PGA tour. In fact, such PGA players like Mike Weir, Dave Barr, and Ian Leggatt all got their start on the Canadian Tour. In addition to these players, all the past winners of the ATB Financial Classic have gone on to play on the PGA Tour.

Past tournament winners:

  • 2007: Mike Grob (USA) – Calgary Elks
  • 2008: Dustin Risdon (CAN) – Cottonwood Golf & Country Club
  • 2009: Graham Delaet (CAN) – Sirocco Golf Club
  • 2010: Dustin Risdon (CAN) – Edmonton Golf & Country Club
  • 2011: Hugo Leon (Chile) – Bearspaw Golf & Country Club

While the tournament itself is great because it showcases some of the top golf pros from around the world, it also gives ATB a chance to give back to the community. During the four-day tournament and several Pro-Am events leading up to it, we'll be raising money for the Mustard Seed of Edmonton. The Mustard Seed delivers basic services including meals, clothing, and personal items to those living in poverty. The Mustard seed also supports sustainable life change by providing housing and employment services to those in need. ATB has pledged to donate $25,000 to this deserving charity.

There's a chance for everyone to get involved:
