Natural gas gains 1.7 cents

Posted on: October 04, 2016

NYMEX natural gas gained 1.7 cents on the days trading to settle at $2.923. Expectations for the EIA number later in the week suggest an injection of 70 bcf. Hurricane Matthew continues to ravage the Caribbean with wind speeds up to 145 mph, and is continuing to head NW. The impact that this could have on the potential for demand is not know at this time, but there is some speculation that the hurricane may affect shipping routes and delay gasoline delivery to some East Coast US markets.

Today we see support around $2.845 and resistance around $2.995.
