Social Responsibility

ATB believes in being a good corporate citizen.

We are currently focusing our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts in four areas:

  1. Economy:

Poverty, housing and homelessness are issues we want to address. We believe that with our financial expertise, network of community-minded team members and our strong relationships in the non-profit sector we can make a vital impact in these areas.

  2. Workplace:

We put a strong focus on wellness, especially mental health and work-life balance. Diversity and inclusion are also priorities.

  3. Community:

    ATB supports Alberta by:

    • Committing 1% of our net profits to charity.
    • Supporting non-profit arts/culture and sport/recreation organizations.
    • Holding annual charitable fundraising campaigns. Teddy for a Toonie has raised over $9 million for the Alberta and Stollery Children’s Hospitals and our United Way efforts total more than $10 million.
    • Encouraging others to give through ATB Cares. ATB commits up to $300,000 per year to match donations to eligible Alberta-based charities.
  4. Environment:

Our retrofit program continues, with a goal of reducing the carbon footprint of our branches. We are also involved with Ducks Unlimited’s land reclamation program and the Calgary Zoo’s swift fox conservation program.
