Four Directions Financial Services is a financial institution run by Boyle Street Community Services. It ensures Edmonton's inner city agency clients who are homeless or living in poverty can open—often for the first time—a bank account with a mainstream financial institution.
We are currently focusing our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts in four areas:
Poverty, housing and homelessness are issues we want to address. We believe that with our financial expertise, network of community-minded team members and our strong relationships in the non-profit sector we can make a vital impact in these areas.
We put a strong focus on wellness, especially mental health and work-life balance. Diversity and inclusion are also priorities.
ATB supports Alberta by:
- Committing 1% of our net profits to charity.
- Supporting non-profit arts/culture and sport/recreation organizations.
- Holding annual charitable fundraising campaigns. Teddy for a Toonie has raised $8.5 million for the Alberta and Stollery Children’s Hospitals and our United Way efforts total almost $9 million.
- Encouraging others to give. In 2015, over $2.79 million was donated to charity through ATB Cares. ATB commits up to $150,000 per year to match donations to eligible Alberta-based charities.
Our retrofit program continues, with a goal of reducing the carbon footprint of our branches.
We are also involved with Ducks Unlimited’s land reclamation program and the Calgary Zoo’s swift fox conservation program.
