Looking spiffy! Don Belanger (City of Edmonton) with ATB’s Michelle Sommer at the Communities in Bloom award ceremony August 15 at Edmonton City Hall.
What does it take to be really, really, ridiculously good-looking?
We’re no Zoolander, but ATB’s participation in the Business Supporting Communities (BSC) program helped us land the Tidiness Award from Edmonton’s Communities in Bloom. The award was presented at Edmonton City Hall August 15, along with the Front Yards in Bloom Awards for residents whose spectacular yard-scaping contributes to the beauty and enjoyment of their whole community.
This is the second year ATB participated in BSC (part of Capital City Clean Up) by donating to local charities and community groups who receive the donation in exchange for cleaning up litter around our Edmonton branches. This approach helps keep our communities clean, while supporting local causes.
“We connect with this program because we are trying to become a more environmentally sustainable organization, and because we are passionate about supporting causes that strengthen our communities,” says Sandra Huculak, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Community Investment. “We are especially grateful to the charities involved who keep our branches looking so nice.”
Last year, ATB Financial contributed $2.3 million in donations, and millions more in sponsorships and fundraising, for important Alberta causes that make our province an even better place to work and play.
