Food banking

Having more customers is usually a good thing. Except when you are a food bank.

Edmonton's Food Bank is now serving 17,000 people, up 18 per cent from this time last year. That's making it pretty challenging to get enough food to the people who need it. In response, ATB Financial is reaching out to team members and customers to collect funds and food for local families in need.

If you’d like to contribute to our food banking initiative, just drop by any of our Edmonton branches with your donations by August 24.

Wondering what to donate? Here's a list of the food bank's most needed items:

  • beans with or without pork
  • canned meat or fish
  • canned fruit or vegetables
  • peanut butter
  • macaroni and cheese dinners
  • pasta and pasta sauce
  • cereal and oatmeal
  • school snack items such as juice boxes, fruit cups, granola bars

Food banks provide a crucial service in our communities, and ATB is a long-time supporter of the work they do—especially in times of economic need. In the last fiscal year, ATB donated over $61,000 to 11 food banks across Alberta.

If you want to help us spread the word about this, tweet or instagram a picture of your donation and use the hashtag #FoodBanking.
