Posted on: February 03, 2017

NYMEX natural gas traded in a range of $0.091 on Thursday and settled at $3.187, gaining 1.9 cents. The sustained warmth in the forecast kept downward pressure on the March contract for much of the morning, going as low as $3.118, until the storage figure released. The market was receptive to the draw of 87-Bcf reported by the EIA and prices recovered for the remainder of the day.

Stocks now total 2,711-Bcf, 59-Bcf higher than the five year average.
