Natural gas gains 7.7 cents

Posted on: March 09, 2017

NYMEX natural gas traded in a range of $0.116 on Wednesday and settled at $2.901/MMBtu, gaining 7.7 cents. Weather continues to play a leading role in natural gas pricing, with cooler than average temperatures hitting the Northeastern and Eastern US over the next 10 days, which will likely boost heating demand in several key areas. The news pushed pricing as high as $2.949/MMBtu before sliding a few cents off that throughout the afternoon.

This morning gas is trading up in anticipation of the storage figure release. The market is expecting a draw around 60-Bcf.
