Make your online and mobile banking even safer with two-factor authentication (2FA).

Enhanced Security is activated when you enable 2FA on ATB Online banking. For additional security, you can also set up biometric login for your ATB Personal mobile banking app.

Activating ATB’s Enhanced Security is an important step in protecting your financial information. It’s free and it fights fraud by making sure it’s really you accessing your account.

Why do I need Enhanced Security?

It’s protection beyond passwords

With Enhanced Security, even if someone figures out your password and username, 2FA requires another form of confirmation beyond security questions—like a passcode sent to your phone by text.

It’s an extra layer of defense

Enrolling in Enhanced Security protects your accounts by adding a second layer of protection, making it more difficult for someone to perform transactions without your authorization.

It’s one small action that can save big trouble

Enhanced Security only adds a few extra seconds in the transaction process, while potentially saving you countless hours of effort and frustration that victims of fraud typically experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

When you log in or complete certain transactions online, you'll be asked to enter a one-time use passcode. This security passcode will be sent in one of two ways, depending on your preference: by text message to your mobile phone or by automated voice message to your mobile or landline phone. Once you enter the code to verify your identity, you'll be able to continue your online banking.

Each passcode will expire after 5 minutes. If you've not entered it by then, you'll need to request another code. In the event you're unable to enter the passcode to verify your identity, any related transaction will automatically be cancelled.

Try requesting another passcode via a link or button that says Resend Code. Make sure you’ve got adequate cell phone signal strength when you’re trying to get a passcode.

Yes, just go to the Self-Service tab in ATB Online (for ATB Online Business look for the Client Services tab), under preferences select “manage enhanced security” and follow the prompts.

Call us at 1-800-332-8383 to secure your account and prevent any possible fraud. You can also change your Enhanced Security settings in the Self-Service section of ATB Online at any time.

Then Enhanced Security is working as intended to keep your accounts safe. Please call Client Care immediately at 1-800-332-8383 and we will review your account to prevent any possible fraud. You’ll also need to change your password as soon as possible.
