Enhanced security is activated when you enable 2FA on ATB Online banking or set up biometric login for your ATB Mobile banking app.

Activating ATB’s Enhanced Security is an important step in protecting your financial information. It’s free and it fights fraud by making sure it’s really you accessing your account.

Why do I need Enhanced Security?

It’s protection beyond passwords

With Enhanced Security, even if someone figures out your password and username, 2FA requires another form of confirmation beyond security questions—like a passcode sent to your phone or a fingerprint.

It’s an extra layer of defense

Enrolling in Enhanced Security protects your accounts by adding a second layer of protection, making it more difficult for someone to perform transactions without your authorization.

Enable Enhanced Security today

For mobile banking, simply open your ATB Mobile app from your phone to get started. For ATB Online banking, continue by logging in below and heading to Self Service.

How to enable two-factor authentication on ATB Online

Step 1

Within ATB Online, select Self-Service from the drop-down menu beside your name in the top-right corner.

Step 2

Under Preferences, click Manage Enhanced Security, and then click Enrol Now to proceed.

Step 3

On the Enhanced Security Phone Set Up screen, enter your Phone Number and a Phone Name. Select a Delivery Method - SMS text message or Automated phone call. Click Submit.

Step 4

You'll receive a security Passcode by your previously selected Delivery Method. On the Enhanced Security Verification screen, enter that Passcode. Click Submit.

How to set up biometric login for your ATB Mobile app

Step 1

From the Accounts screen, tap the Settings icon (the gear in the upper left of the screen), and then toggle Biometric Login from off to on.

Step 2

On the Biometric Login Setup screen, toggle from NO to YES to confirm that the biometric data stored on the device are only yours. Read the biometrics agreement and tap Continue.

Step 3

If you’ve registered for enhanced security, select how your code will be sent and tap Send Code. Once you receive your code, enter it and tap Submit Code. Success!

It’s ATB’s two factor authentication system that fights fraud, by creating an additional layer of security on your accounts.

Before you log in or complete certain online transactions, you will be asked to enter a one-time use passcode. This security passcode will be sent in one of two ways: via text message to your mobile phone or an automated voice message on your mobile or landline phone. It works as a second check to make sure it’s really you accessing your account.

Enhanced Security is free for all ATB Online users. We highly recommend it and encourage you to enrol in two-factor authentication for your online account, and enable biometrics on your mobile app.

Try requesting another passcode via a link or button that says Resend Code.Make sure you’ve got adequate cell phone signal when you’re trying to receive a passcode.

Yes, just go to the Self-Service tab in ATB Online (for ATB Online Business look for the Client Services tab), under preferences select “manage enhanced security” and follow the prompts.

The transaction will automatically be cancelled. The passcode needs to be entered before a transaction can proceed.
