The inflation-adjusted annual average weekly wage in Alberta fell for the sixth time in seven years in 2021 with the 2.1% increase in 2020 largely due to the disruptive effects of the pandemic.
Looking at 2021, the average weekly wage in Alberta was 1.1% lower than in 2020 and 5.4% below the peak set in 2014.
Nationally, the inflation-adjusted average weekly wage has slipped only twice over the same seven year period.
