Grande Prairie—ATB Financial has opened the doors to its fourth Entrepreneur Centre. Located in Grande Prairie, one of Alberta’s top entrepreneurial communities, it is a place where business owners can meet to share ideas, garner support and learn from banking and business experts.

The ATB Entrepreneur Centre, in the Westview branch at 9907 106A Street, will serve a diverse range of businesses in the area—including oil, forestry, retail, agriculture and transportation—with more than just banking.

“With Alberta’s highest number of businesses per capita, Grande Prairie is a key location where entrepreneurs are looking for support,” said Roselle Doyle, Entrepreneur Centre leader. “They are skilled in their trade or area of expertise, but they may not know everything that’s involved in running a business.”

Entrepreneurs are invited to attend various hand-picked workshops to help them connect with other like-minded entrepreneurs and learn from the best in the business. The first free event, Take Control of Your Money - Money & Emotions, is on May 10.

The Entrepreneur Centre will offer:

• Events and networking opportunities
• Free appointment bookings with business strategy experts
• Custom business and personal banking solutions including Free Banking for 2018 Startups
• Open workspaces and meeting rooms

“There’s little separation for business and personal life in an entrepreneur’s world, as we see with our local family businesses,” said Roselle. “Our holistic support helps them be more efficient so they can continue to amplify community efforts, including time with their families and volunteer work.”

ATB research identified Grande Prairie as a key location where entrepreneurs are looking for these services. There are over 1,300 licensed businesses in Grande Prairie, home to more patents per capita than any other region in Canada.

ATB introduced the Entrepreneur Centre concept to Lethbridge in March, in addition to Calgary and Edmonton which opened in 2016. Since then, entrepreneurs have booked more than 2,500 appointments with strategists and over 14,000 Albertans have participated in Entrepreneur Centre events. The Grande Prairie Entrepreneur Centre is open weekdays from 9:30am-5pm. You don’t have to be an ATB customer to use it.
