Passkey Authentication
Secure your ATB accounts with passkey login: Easy, fast and safe.
Why should I use passkeys?
Passkeys are easy to use
Authenticate and log in using your mobile device’s biometrics capabilities and eliminate the need to remember a password.
Passkeys are safe
With biometric authentication and encryption built in, passkeys reduce the risk of phishing and hacking.
Passkeys are convenient
Coming in August 2024 - Passkeys provide quick and easy access to your accounts: simply use your biometrics for seamless authentication.
How passkeys work
Passkeys work by combining your biometric data, such as fingerprint or facial recognition (i.e., Face ID®) with encryption. When logging into ATB’s mobile applications with passkeys, your biometric data verifies your identity, and the encrypted passkey logs you in without the need for a password.
Passkeys will launch throughout August 2024 and will be available on many of ATB’s mobile applications, including ATB Personal, ATB Business and ATB Prosper.
Passkey Features
Login with speed
Save time. Simply select your passkey account and scan your fingerprint or face without entering your username and password.
Syncs across devices
Passkeys sync across devices with the same Google or iCloud accounts. This means multiple mobile devices can be used to login with the same biometrics.
Improved encryption
With passkeys, sensitive data is encrypted preventing unauthorized access.
User friendly
Passkey log in significantly simplifies the login experience.
Improved security
When you use a passkey you reduce the risk of phishing and attacks that rely on passwords or one-time passcodes that can be intercepted.
Reduced user error
Gone are the days of misspelling your username or password. Using passkeys avoids mistypes on your mobile device.

Passkeys are more secure than passwords, phish resistant and they’re safe and convenient to use. A password could be exposed in a data breach, unlike a passkey and they’re stronger by default since they can’t be guessed and never leave your device.
Using passkeys is entirely free and is part of ATB’s commitment to keeping your money and identity safe.
Yes, after logging in using passkeys, clients can still be challenged via 2FA at different points in our mobile applications.
