John Tarnowski has led digital transformations, executed complex strategic programs and disrupted conventional thinking to deliver value during his time at ATB. Prior to being named Chief Client Experience and Technology Officer, John led Everyday Financial Services at ATB to its highest grossing year to date.
Before entering the financial services industry, John travelled the world for a decade as a competitive ski racing coach, helping athletes achieve their goals. Over the past two decades, he has applied that same focus to transforming digital, payment and financial service experiences—by placing the client at the centre of everything he does.
As technology continues to evolve and enable new client experiences—both digitally and face-to-face—John is focused on preparing the 2,000-plus team members who report to him to be adaptable and skilled at developing strong, trusting relationships.
John has an academic background in investment and economics and a passion for customer experience. Still a coach at heart, he takes every opportunity to motivate, inspire and bring out peak performance in everyone he interacts with.
