Tara Lockyer

Tara leads the strategy and teams that shape ATB’s workplace and reputation, with a portfolio spanning human resources, culture, communications, marketing, and brand. Recognized as a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), she aligns the team member experience with ATB’s brand promise—building the culture, capabilities, and brand strategy that empower ATB to deliver exceptional client experiences.

Passionate about unlocking potential and building future-ready teams, Tara has driven ATB’s enterprise-wide learning strategy. Her team launched flagship growth initiatives, including the proprietary Leader DNA Certification program in partnership with the University of Alberta, cultivating strong leadership across the organization while embedding continuous development at every level of ATB. By continually strengthening the employee experience, she has championed the vibrant workplace culture that has kept ATB on the Great Place to Work® list for eleven consecutive years.

Prior to joining ATB, Tara served as Head of Enterprise Business Engagement and Implementation for global HR at CIBC and Global Head of Talent, Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness at Manulife. An adventurer at heart, her career path led from Eastern Canada to Asia before she settled with her family in the Alberta mountains. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Communications from the University of Windsor, a diploma in Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier University, and a Certified Insurance Professional designation. Tara is a recipient of the 2026 Calgary Influential Women in Business Award and served two terms on Alberta’s Premier’s Council on Skills.
