Seasonally-adjusted manufacturing sector revenue in Alberta pulled back for the second month in a row in July.
After reaching an all-time high in May, factory sales in the province edged down by 0.7% in June and by 2.6% in July.
The main reason for the decline in July was lower prices pushing petroleum and coal product manufacturing sales down by $241 million (-7.6%). Food product sales, meanwhile, fell by $42 million (-2.2%).
Sales ticked up in several sectors including non-metallic mineral products (this sector includes things like drywall and cement), chemicals and wood products.
Nationally, manufacturing sales fell by 0.9% in July (the third consecutive drop) with five provinces posting lower numbers.
