Kids can hurt on the inside, too.
Right now, one in five kids struggle with mental health issues like anxiety, depression, eating disorders and schizophrenia—and only half can get access to the help they need. It’s time to change that.
This year, ATB is matching donations to Teddy for a Toonie to support mental health programs for Alberta’s children and youth. We’ll top up every $1 you donate to $1.50, up to $50,000.
Teddy for a Toonie 2020
Each year, Teddy for a Toonie raises money to support children’s health across Alberta. We’ve raised $10.3 million so far.

The Stollery Children’s Hospital is creating integrated mental health services within its emergency department, which is the only pediatric emergency in northern Alberta. This important investment will boost urgent helpline support to be 24/7, and set up a separate walk-in clinic to improve access to expert care.
The Alberta Children’s Hospital is growing its Acute at Home program, which provides a lifeline to families who often feel like they’re treading water. Acute at Home is a nimble, on-call team that helps families with urgent mental health needs. Team members connect with parents and young people where they’re at, whether it’s in the evening at the family home or first thing in the morning at their neighbourhood coffee shop.
