It’s well known that the first two years of the pandemic saw economic turbulence, along with all of the other challenges experienced. Just when we thought things were getting back to some sort of normal in the economy, inflation, invasion and interest have caused the seatbelt sign to come back on. There is no doubt these factors present immediate challenges, but will they also lead to entrenched changes to the economy?

The first two years of the pandemic brought plenty of economic turbulence, but in this episode we are looking forward with a positive lens, while seeing no shortages of challenges that will show that each of us has a role to play in shaping the future.
Our experts discuss where they see inflation and interest rates going long term, and why suddenly these numbers are newsworthy to a lot of people. We also ask the question on what long-term effects the Russian invasion of Ukraine (and other world events) will have on the global economy.
This episode also marks Todd Hirsch’s last episode as the host of The Future Of podcast. Todd’s voice, expertise and perspective has engaged and educated many over his 15 years at ATB Financial, including many candid and inspiring conversations on this podcast. We wish Todd all the best in his next chapter and thank him for guiding us into the future.
