User Management FAQs

User Management is the process to create and/or alter the abilty for someone to login and perform activities using Business Online.

The Corporate Administrator holds the primary Role for the company’s online business profile. They also manage Roles and Users within the company.

To add a new User, the Corporator Administrator must first ensure a suitable Role has been created. One or more Users may be assigned to a Role. 

  1. Log into ATB Business and click Admin
  2. Select Roles & Users from the dropdown 
  3. Select the Users tab
  4. Select Create User
  5. Enter a Username. Select Check Username to see if the name is available.
  6. Complete all required fields and select Next
  7. Choose a Role for the User
  8. Verify the details and select Create User
  9. If approval is required, the request will not be completed until approved.

A sequence of emails will be sent to the new user to verify their email address and create a password within a limited time frame. When complete, an email providing the username will be sent. 

The user can then use the username and password to log in.

A user becomes active once they’ve logged in for the first time using the password they created and set up 2FA.

  1.  Log into ATB Business and click Admin
  2.  Select Roles & Users from the dropdown
  3.  Select the Users tab
  4.  Select the User  
  5.  Select Reset password 
  6.  A reset password is sent automatically to the email address in the User’s profile.

  1.  Log into ATB Business and click Admin
  2.  Select Roles & Users from the dropdown
  3.  Select the Users tab
  4.  Select the User 
  5.  Select the link Change email
  6.  Enter the new email address into the fields and Select Save

 A verification email is sent to the new email address. Once the email address has been verified, password resets will be possible.

Administrators must deauthorize the existing authentication and advise the User to log in again to set up their new choices for Two-factor authentication.

  1.  Log into ATB Business and click Admin
  2.  Select Roles & Users from the dropdown
  3.  Select the Users tab
  4.  Select the User

Select Deauthorize email address or Deauthorize mobile device

  1.  Log into ATB Business and click Admin
  2.  Select Roles & Users from the dropdown
  3.  Select the Users tab
  4.  Select the User  
  5.  In the title bar, switch the Active toggle to On. The reason for the lock out will appear next to the toggle.
  6. If approval is required, the request will not be completed until approved.    
  7.  Once approvals have been provided, the User will be able to log in.

  1. Log into ATB Business and click Admin
  2. Select Roles & Users from the dropdown
  3. Select the Users tab
  4. Select the User
  5. Switch the Active toggle to Off
  6. Type the reason for the lock out into the field. The information will be displayed to anyone with permission to view Users.
  7. Select Deactivate
  8. If approval is required, the request will not be completed until approved.    
  9.  Once approvals have been provided, the User will be unable to log in

It is not possible to delete a User at this time.

You can, however:

  1. Remove their ability to login 
  2. Change their Role to Unassigned, which has no permissions. The Unassigned Role is provided automatically.
  3. Perform the steps outlined in:
    1. How do I lock out a User because of security issues or other reasons?
    2. How do I change the Role the User is assigned to?

Roles are assigned to the User and permissions are assigned to the Role.

In the process of creating a new User, you will assign a Role to the User. When viewing the User profile, you have the option to change the Role assigned. 

  1. Log into ATB Business and click Admin
  2.  Select Roles & Users from the dropdown
  3.  Select the Users tab
  4.  Select the User  
  5.  Select the Change role link 
  6.  Select the Role you wish to assign to the User
  7.  Select Save
  8.  If approval is required, the request will not be completed until approved.
  9.  Once approvals have been provided the Role will be assigned to the User.
  10. The change will appear to the User on their next Login.

Updates are effective immediately unless approval is required. Once approvals have been provided, updates will be applied the next time the User logs in.

Limits are set at the Role level for specific payment services.
