Onyi Onwuachi

Onyi Onwuachi is a Senior Private Banking Advisor with ATB, bringing more than 14 years of financial services experience to his clients and team. Based at ATB Place in Edmonton, AB, he serves clients in English. Onyi’s deep technical expertise is backed by a Bachelor of Commerce from Athabasca University and a Business Administration Diploma from Northwestern Polytechnic, both with a major in Accounting. He also holds the Personal Financial Planner (PFP®) certification.

Where it Began

Onyi has called Alberta home for over 17 years, arriving from Nigeria as an international student in 2009. Banking runs in his family, shaping his commitment to stewardship, disciplined risk management, and long-term client relationships. He began his Canadian banking career in 2012, building a portfolio serving entrepreneurs, self-employed professionals, and families, and later advancing into senior business banking and private wealth roles.

Serving the Next Generation

Onyi is passionate about advancing financial literacy for the next generation, believing future stewards of family wealth should receive early education and guidance to prepare for that responsibility. The best financial advice he received came from his mother, who encouraged him to always believe in himself and save for rainy days.

Outside the office, Onyi enjoys swimming, cycling, playing chess, and spending time with his family.
