This coverage is available to all ATB clients, and their friends and family. Most plans have no maximum age limit.

For vaccinated travellers: Medical coverage benefits for COVID-19 medical and related expenses are added to the Traveller Emergency Medical Insurance plan, up to the policy limit. Fully vaccinated travellers can access COVID-19 quarantine benefits under Trip Cancelation & Trip Interruption Insurance.

TuGo provides COVID-19 coverage under the Emergency Medical Insurance plans for vaccinated Canadians, up to the policy limit. Coverage is provided regardless of travel advisory levels issued by the Canadian government.

For travel within Canada, TuGo provides coverage regardless of vaccination status.

Yes. Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption Insurance can be purchased to include COVID-19 sickness. This coverage will provide an out-of-pocket expense benefit if you are prevented from travelling home as scheduled if you're required to quarantine following a positive COVID-19 test result.

Effective February 28, 2022 the Federal Government is easing certain border measures and the Level 3 “avoid Non-essential travel” travel advisory will be downgraded to a Level 2, meaning that the Government will no longer recommend that Canadians avoid travel for non-essential purposes. We’d like to reassure you that this announcement won’t impact TuGo’s COVID-19 coverage.

Your credit card may provide basic travel insurance, but you must read the fine print to find out exactly what’s covered, under what conditions and what the limits are. The coverage you have may apply for a limited time period, or be available only to a certain age. And some credit cards will only provide coverage if your trip is paid for with that credit card.

Alberta Health provides only limited coverage for medical treatment and hospital costs outside of Canada. If you’re injured or become ill while away, only about 10% of your medical bills will be covered.
