COVID-19 coverage must be added alongside with a new or existing TuGo worldwide or worldwide excluding USA emergency medical plan. The emergency medical plan must be in place for the entire duration of the COVID-19 coverage.

For travellers 60 years and older to apply, a short COVID-19 medical questionnaire is required and will determine your daily insurance premium rate.

As of December 15, 2021, the Canadian government reinstated the Level 3 "avoid non-essential travel" advisory. We’d like to reassure you that this announcement won’t impact TuGo’s COVID-19 coverage. Please visit TuGo's FAQ page for the most up to date information on COVID-19 travel.

Your credit card may provide basic travel insurance, but you must read the fine print to find out exactly what’s covered, under what conditions and what the limits are. The coverage you have may apply for a limited time period, or be available only to a certain age. And some credit cards will only provide coverage if your trip is paid for with that credit card.

Alberta Health provides only limited coverage for medical treatment and hospital costs outside of Canada. If you’re injured or become ill while away, only about 10% of your medical bills will be covered.
