ATB continues to use industry-leading safeguards like 2FA to help ensure your information stays secure. Yet cybercriminals are always looking for new ways to target people. That’s why we’re encouraging you to use passkey and biometric login when using our apps to transact. They offer even stronger protection, and a smoother, more convenient experience.

How They Work

Passkey Login:

Instead of remembering (or typing) a password, a passkey uses an encrypted digital key that’s unique to your device. When you log in, your phone verifies your identity (using your fingerprint, face, or device PIN), no password needed. This makes it much harder for fraudsters to trick you or steal your credentials.

Biometric Login:

Biometric login uses your fingerprint or facial recognition to confirm it’s really you. This method is quick, easy, and familiar, just like unlocking your phone. Your biometric information never leaves your device; it’s never stored or shared with ATB.

Make the Switch

Passkey is available through the ATB Personal, ATB Business, and ATB Prosper mobile apps on iOS and Android. Biometric login is currently supported on the ATB Personal app. You’ll still use your username and password when logging in through a desktop browser or on the web. Making the switch comes with the following benefits:

• Enhanced Protection: Passkeys and biometric authentication use strong, phishing-resistant security that ties your login to something you have (your device) and something you are (like your fingerprint or face). This makes it significantly harder for attackers to gain access to your account.
• Phishing Resistant: Since you’re not entering a password, you’re better protected from scams or fake sites designed to steal your credentials.
• Seamless Access: Logging in is faster and easier, you just use your fingerprint, face, or device PIN.
• Personal Control: Only you (and your registered devices) can approve a login. No one can “borrow” your credentials or trick you into sharing them.
