To open this low-interest line of credit (LOC), complete a credit check and submit proof of enrolment by September 30th of your post-secondary school year.
Access when you need to
Borrow up to $60,000 up-front if you sign with a qualified co-borrower. Or take sole responsibility—borrow up to $15,000 each year for up to four years.
Repay on your terms
Pay only interest each month you're in school and for 12 months after graduation. Then, establish a repayment schedule with up to 20 years to repay the funds you borrowed.

Frequently Asked Questions
To qualify for the Students First Line of Credit, you must provide proof of enrolment in a full-time program at a Canadian or American not-for-profit university, college, or technical school. High school upgrading and private for-profit vocational schools are not eligible. Your program term must be at least one year.
Acceptable proof of enrolment can include an original copy, photocopy, faxed copy, scanned copy or clear photo of:
- A receipt for payment of tuition
- A letter of acceptance from a qualifying post-secondary educational institution
- A legible copy of student's timetable showing name, name of school and dates of the term
We'll reach out to you if we need to confirm your enrolment to maintain your student status in September of each year.
