The Balance Protection plan is underwritten by the Manufacturer Life Insurance Company (Manulife Financial) and First North American Insurance Company (FNA). It is offered to eligible ATB Financial Mastercard personal card holders on a group plan basis.
Premiums for Mastercard Balance Protection are paid to Manulife Financial. Premiums are charged each month to the card.
To cancel your Mastercard Balance Protection plan, you'll need to contact
Manulife Financial by calling 1-877-362-2103 (Monday to Friday from 6AM to
6PM Mountain Time).
The Primary and Spousal cardholder (until the age of 65) is eligible for Life, Accidental Dismemberment and Critical Illness coverage. The Primary cardholder (until the age of 65) is eligible for Disability and Loss of Employment coverage. Limitations and exclusions apply.
New cardholders may apply within their personal Mastercard application. Existing cardholders can visit their nearest branch or call ATB Client Care at 1-888-404-4646.

A monthly amount equal to the greater of $20 or 10% of your Mastercard balance on the Billing Date immediately preceding your disability/job loss/hospitalization to a max of $25,000. In the event of death, your Mastercard balance at date of death, including in-transit transactions. In the event of critical illness, your Mastercard balance on or immediately preceding your date of diagnosis, including in-transit transactions.
Refers to the Spouse of the Primary Cardholder, whose name has been embossed on an ATB Mastercard which has been issued on the same account as that of the Primary Cardholder.
